Verizon cell phone replacement?

Ok...i have the lg voyager titanium (170$) and i just got it a couple of months ago and its giving me a bunch of problems like the touch screen freezes and it shuts off randomly so i was going verizon this weekend and ask them if i can get a cheaper phone like the samsung omnia (99$) do you think they would let me do that?

1. It never hurts to ask, worst thing that will happen is that they say no. I was going to get that phone also, until I read so many problems that people had with it.
