GSM Cell Phone, Help Please!!?

I recently bought a new, unlocked GSM cell phone. I purchased the triband phone that covers 900/1800/1900mHz. It is the LG KG800 chocolate phone. I made and received calls at first, but now it keeps telling me that I can only make emergency calls. I was told the check the network, but there are like 100 choices. How do I know which network to set it on? Does it depend on the area? Is there another preference that I may have changed to mess up the settings for the networks? PLEASE HELP!!

1. who is your network provider... is that sprint, cingular or... just call your customer care and let them know that you are facing the problem...
2. I am not sure whether your phone has SIM card. If your phone has a SIM card and still says you can only make emergency call, you have to open the phone and replace the SIM again. It may be losing contact. If your phone does not have SIM card, you have to buy it. Without SIM card you can only make emergency calls. You can buy the SIM card either from prepaid services, or from regular service provider such as AT&T/T-Mobile. Once you load your SIM card, it will find the right network by itself. If it still does not work, call your Service Provider (of course from another phone). Hope that helps.
