How long should I charge my LG Chocolate cell phone for for the FIRST time?

Btw, i know that you are supposed to charge cell phones for a fair bit longer when you bring it home for the first time than when you are just regularly charging it. The MANUAL didnt say how long!

2. They say the newer phones you can charge as little as you'd like. As in a few hours at a time. MY wife has an 8600 and she only charges it in the car driving to and from work and she never dies. Plus they say once a day you should restart your phone.
3. I just got the LG chocolate for christmas. The manual said 5 hours, but mine only took about 3 and a half.
