Problem with my cell phone (camera). LG VX 8500 (Chocolate).?

Whenever I hit the camera button on my Chocolate cell phone, it turns my phone off, basically resets it. I have no problems viewing my pictures from my shortcuts, but my camera doesn't seem to want to work no matter how many times I try. =[. Does anyone have any ideas?! 1. I have the same phone and it's never happened to me. Does it only happen when you hit the camera button on the side?
