Will an ATT Go Phone work like a regular cell with a SIMS card?

I sold my BlackBerry because I absolutely hate it. I went to the ATT store and didn't wan't to spend $220 on a new cell phone. The lady there said I could get a Go Phone and ignore all the directions, stick my SIMS card in it and use it like a regular cell phone. Is that true? She said they are pretty cheap.

1. I love my Go Phone!!! Mine came with the SIMS card... I guess you can use your existing card. Yeah, it works just like a regular phone. Keep in mind though that the minutes expire at different times. The lowest amount (like 10 bucks) expires in 30 days. The other amounts expire in 90... except for 100 bucks... that expires in a year. Every time I make a call, when I end it it gives me the balance. Or at any time I can dial *777# and it will give me the balance. Enjoy :)
2. Yes it is true. I did that when my old Razr broke. Plus you can order a gophone off of AT&T's website (since they have more variety) and it should work.
