how can you switch sim cards without phone saying insert correct sim card

i am switching with my sony ericsson w300i for a sony ericson k320 do you think it is worth it and does any body know how to switch the cards i am in jamaica my att card works in his phone but his digicel doesnt work in mine it is very weird please help and his card doesnt have a code and it still doesnt work help please!!!!

1. If your sim works in his, that means his phone is unlocked, open to all networks. If his sim doesn't work in your phone, that means your phone is locked, closed to other networks, will only work with an att card. You'll need to get your phone unlocked to accept his sim card.
