I need help..does anyone have answers?
My friend just gave me a cell phone that she hasn't really used. Its practically brand new, but the service is turned off. It's a cingular phone, but I've been told that they've merged with ATT. My credit is less than perfect, so I opted for one of the prepaid Hargray accounts...unlimited minutes...but Hargray doesn't service my kind of cell phone because this phone uses a "sim" card. Are there any companies that does "sim card" thing, and also has the prepay on price a month plan without a contract? I live in Georgia.

- Some services with Sim cards are Cingular, sprint and Nextel. But not all phones have sim cards, it depends on the phone. You should search online which service covers your certain phone, and get the cheapest plan, or have a parent co-sign. I had bad credit but Cingular approved me anyway. Good luck!
- Suncom and Cingular are ther only ones who have sim cards. But you can't take a cell phone to a different company. You have to keep it at that company because it has specific software on it. Sometimes Suncom will flash the software in order to change it, but they charge you for it. My suggestion is to give that cell back to your friend and go get a prepaid phone on your own. Try a Go Phone or something. They are usually inexpensive.
- Try selling the phone to someone and use that money to buy a different phone
