buying a blackberry off ebay? but i have a go phone from att? will it work with a go phone service?

does it have to be unlocked or locked?

1. If it is a ATT BlackBerry it will work fine as a phone only. You won't get the BlackBerry service on it, as there is no BlackBerry service for Go Phones. It requires a specific BlackBerry plan for all the features to work. If it is a non-ATT device it would have to be unlocked to work on the ATT network. If it is unlocked, make sure it was unlocked correctly using the manufacturers code, as otherwise the data and text may not work right. This is very common. It also blows any warranty it may have left. If you just wanted to use it for calls and text messaging, it will work just fine.
