LG Wireless Phone

If I get an unlocked att phone and use it with T-mobile will I get better service?

Where I live ATT has really nice overage, but T-mobile has the price I want to pay. I heard a rumor that if I get an unlocked ATT phone and use it with T-Mobile I can pick up off of ATT towers. So there for I would have really nice service at a nice low cost. Is this true?

  1. Unlocking a cell phone from one provider to use on another's network doesn't necessarily mean 'better service' The main reason alot of people unlock a device is to use an exclusive device from one provider on another's network (example: Use AT&T exclusive Blackjack on T-Mobile's network). Another reason is to use a device you already own so that you don't have to purchase new equipment with a contract. Every device is different and some are better at receiving better signal than others. So it is possible that an unlocked AT&T device could receive better service but that is not because it is an unlocked AT&T device. The only way is if it was a better quality device than the one it is being compared to. (This is true with all providers, not just AT&T)
