Is it possible to add a line on ATT without account holder present?

They had a good deal on phones at best buy this week and I wanted to add a line to my dad's family plan. The problem is that my dad is busy today and tomorrow but he said to take his account information and try myself. Is this possible? Can I go to Best Buy and add a line onto ATT without my father being there? Also what credentials would I have to bring to purchase the phone?

2. Sorry, ATT does not allow this at all (neither should Best Buy). It takes the contract owner or someone with registered signature authority to modify the account (add a line). Get your dad to call ATT and add you as signature authority to the account. It only takes a couple of minutes.
