Does Phones Having WiFi Means It Has Free Wireless Network If In Coverege Area?

I want to know if phones with WiFi will have free Network if in coverage area or do u need to get network from your cellular service provider? Thanks

1. WiFi is provided by the place your at ... for example hotel, coffee shop, Mcdonalds ... ect. If your phone is wifi then just turn it on and it will pick it up. WiFi is NOT provided by your cell phone carrier, so even if you dont have bars on your phone you can still connect to WiFi if its avail! For example a bad storm took out our local tower, i had no phone service but was able to pick up on the WiFi from the apt complex behind us and see what was goin on!
