How do I transfer my Verizon Wireless plan to another person?

I'm selling my Verizon Wireless phone and plan to a friend to take over since I now have a new Cingular plan. All the searches I have done tend to result in pointing me towards CellTrader and other such sites, but that isn't what I need. If anyone has any knowledge of the steps needed to transfer phone service between two people, please let me know. This information really needs to be specific to Verizon if it can, but I will take what I can get. Thanks in advance for all of your help.

1. im sure that the person u are selling it to would have to go and get their credit checked with verizon and pay a deposit if required before it can be put into their name.so both of u would have to go to a store and tell the customer service person what u are doing so they can start the transaction to transfer.
