How long does the average person have their cell phone?

I have had my cell phone for more than 2 years and am planning on having it for at least another year, while i have friends who have had about 4-6 phones a year. So i just want to know what the average length of time a person keeps a cell phone.

1. i usually keep mine for 2-3 years. first i had a razor and hated it so much. woodnt stop messing up. got sent off to be fixed 3 times for 3 months each. now i have a blackberry pearl and im gonna hate it too. already the ball fell out and they sent it of for 3 months to get the ball put back in!!
2. I get a new 1 on my birthday every yr lol haha
