How can I keep my cell phone number if I switch to another company?
As of now I have sprint but my contract is finished. I want to switch over to metro pcs or at&t. What are the steps to keeping my cell phone number. Also is it true by law that I can keep my cell phone number?

- i think it has something to do with the sim card
- just ask them
- Call the operator and ask for a PAC code. Then give it to your new operator... it will take about 5 days to transfer. You can be charged for it. (in the UK it is normally £30) Good luck!
- All you have to do is ask at&t or metro pc's to transfer you number and as long as there isnt a contract with the phone they can transfer you number.
- yeah you should be able to keep the same number. when you switch just tell them your number and it will be good. i kept my number after switching from sprint to verizon.
- Yes they have to let you keep your number. When you go to the company just tell them you already have a number to use. You know when they ask you what kind of number do what area code that stuff, just tell then then.
- yes you can and for free as well! However, make sure your bill the first few months is correct. You might receive a bill from your old phone company.
- When I did this, all I had to do was tell my new carrier to port my number. It took about 5 minutes to transfer the number over!!!
- You can keep your cell phone number. Just tell the new company that you would like to transfer your phone number.
- When you switch they usually ask you if you want to keep your previous number, you just say yes and they take care of the rest!
- My parents had T-Mobile and now they have AT&T (very good service) and they kept their cell number. So, just call your company which is Sprint and ask them for step by step instructions. (:
