Magic Jack Plus-what if I don't have any att phone service, do I still just plug it in the wall and into a rou?

  1. So what part of this is a question that makes sense? AT&T and MJ+ don't even apply. You get the unit, connect it to your router and go online to pick an area code and exchange for service. You now have a 10 digit phone number. At no point in time did you need or ever need AT&T.
  2. You don't necessarily need ATT for magicJack Plus to work, Kathi. Any broadband internet connection will do the job (except satellite services) - provided the connection is fast enough. Plug the magicJack Plus into the wall, connect an Ethernet cable to your router, and connect a phone to your magicJack Plus. Once the software installs itself, you should be good to go. If you need to operate magicJack Plus wirelessly, plug the magicJack section of the Plus directly into a USB port on your laptop. The laptop will provide the wi-fi connection, and magicJack will provide the phone service. Hope this helps.
