LG Wireless Phone

Can I get a phone activated that's not through Verizon?

I need to buy a new phone. I recently bought one but it was one of those "I need a phone because my old old one just died" type phones. I want to get a nicer phone since I can afford it now and all that good stuff. I don't use smartphones because I don't pay for my phone bill and my dad won't pay 30 a month extra for a date plan I DON'T need. So, I have to stick to basic phones. I want either the "LG Dare" the "LG EN-V Touche" or..the "LG Versa". Verizon doesn't sell them currently so I'd have to go to another site to buy them. However, I need to know if I'm going to be able to activate it while my 2 year contract isn't up (still have it). I already looked at the phones details and it says "no contract required" So, am I going to be able to activate a new phone if it's not purchased through Verizon and my contract isn't up yet? data* Touch*

  1. they are both CDMA phones that Verizon supported, so they should have no problem, just call Verizon, tell them you want to carry your contract over to the new phone, and give them the serial # (located under the battery)
