What to do about my late phone bill?

My husband and I recently split up. In the process, we cancelled our (almost) 200 dollar a month phone bill from Verizon Wireless. The phones are in my name and yesterday I got a bill for 1,400 dollars due immediately. I obviously don't have the money to pay this bill up front, so I am curious what the minimum monthly payment would be to keep it off my credit.

1. You would have to contact Verizon Wireless and work with them on your monthly payments and how much you are able to pay each month. If you don't then they will send your account to a collection agency and they will be calling you each day until they get their money. Then of course this would ruin your credit history and credit score.
