  1. OK, AT&T home service. Do you have DSL service or Uverse service. Either way, you need to find out if the modem has wireless built into it. If so, then as long as your laptop has wireless built in, you should be able to connect wireless on your laptop any where in the immediate area of your home, as I am doing right on my laptop, as I'm writing this. The key factor is whether the AT&T modem has wireless built in. IF you don't know, there are two things you can do, either call the AT&T customer service for internet service or you can open your laptop and ask the wireless in the laptop to search for wi-fi signals. When it searches it should find some wireless signals, if it displays a signal 4-5 green bars, the strongest signal could be in your house. If you highlight the choice and select, connect, it will probably require a password, that password would be found on the bottom of the AT&T modem. When you enter that password, it will then allow you to connect to the internet wirelessly.
