How to DEACTVATE a Verizon Wireless Phone?

I just recently got a new verizon wireless phone and had it activated. So I wanted to sell my old one but for the oddest reason the old one is still activated (with my number and everything). I was wondering if there was a way to deactivate the old one without accidentally deactivating the new old? Also, I looked up online at Verizon Wireless to see if there was a way and they were no help.

1. You can either go to the verizon website, or Once you've activated the new phone with you number it won't work until a new account has been synced into it, this takes a bit for the transition to happen
2. This is a very strange occurence I may say.It seems the best solution is to call your Verizon Dealer.In these situations it is best to talk to someone LIVE.
