iphone with Att phone plan?

Okay, so i've been with AT&T phone company for years! (actually my dad has, I'm on his phone plan) I have never owned or wanted to own an iPhone in till recently when the iPhone 4s came out! I have a unlimited data plan, and I am wondering since I already have a certain messaging plan, and since I'm already with at&t do I have to switch my data plan? I don't want to since at&t no longer offers unlimited data plans!
