verizon to sprint wireless phone plan?

I am a loyal Verizon customer up till now. With there change in the data plans being tiered as of tomorrow and also the fact that they got rid of there new every 2 i am up for a new phone next month and they told me i get a discount not a new phone. I have been with them for 15 years! SO my question is this...I am thinking of going to sprint seeing how there plan is about the same price i am already paying if not less. With unlimited data and calling. So i need to know what everyone thinks of sprint and also how easy is it to switch? I also have one more issue my plan under verizon is a family plan in which one phone is not being used and the other is but she could care less if she has it (my mother) But they have about another 9 months on there contract but they are not smart phones. So If i cancel my plan which my phone is primary do i have to pay the deactivation on the other 2 phones? Or if I switch to Sprint will that automatically bring those phones over as well? Also do I need to just go to sprint and they will handle the deactivation of the verizon phones or do I need to do that myself?

  1. I can't totally answer your question, but I can tell you that: - Verizon gets better ratings from customers than Sprint on service, reliability and coverage (Verizon is ranked as the top wireless company overall in the USA by Consumer Reports magazine). - If you still have a contract on a phone and you end it early, you will have to pay a penalty. The exact amount depends on how long you have left in the contract and your plans; check with Verizon. - Sprint will not let you switch your Verizon phones to Sprint. You will have to get new phones from Sprint. - Sprint won't handle the deactivation of your Verizon phones. Only Verizon will do that, when you cancel your contract, etc. - If you want the same phone number on your Sprint phone(s) as on your Verizon phones, Sprint *will* do that, but you need to ask them to do that before you activate your Sprint phones.
