Can I upgrade my phone as usual after doing this?

I have Verizon Wireless as my cellular phone service provider and was wondering when my next upgrade would be. It normally is every second December (the last time being December 2009), but last August I acquired an old BlackBerry 8530 Curve from a friend. I bought a data plan and switched to this BlackBerry. Would my upgrade still come this December? Or will I have to wait till August 2012? I searched for the answer on my Verizon Wireless account online but got nowhere. Thanks!

1. yeah, you'll have to wait about two years (anywhere from 18-26 months depending on the carrier) from your most recent upgrade! hope i helped :)
2. No switching phones does not affect your contract. And if you log on to My Verzion you can check your Upgrade Date.
