Deleting my land line Phone at home..Good idea?

I have att home phone and and 5 att cell phones for the family. I understand the value of a land line but we make or receive less than 10 calls per month on the home phone and although the home phone is 15.00 it goes up to 28.00 with govt fee's. i just think its a worthless bill.If theres ever an emergency so big that only land lines can make calls then i figure im not gonna get help anyhow .Advice?

1. If it were me I would get rid of the land line you are right it is worthless and you can use the money for something better. I have a land line but then I do not have a cell phone so I need to keep it. But if I ever do get a cell phone I will most likely get rid of the land line.
2. My family had to make this same decision and we weighed all the pros and cons and decided to disconnect our land line. It has saved us money and we have not missed it yet!! The biggest problem we ran into was my wife absolutely hated looking at the ugly phone jack on our kitchen wall and complained about it nonstop. She looked everywhere and tried everything to cover it up and nothing worked. She finally found a website that sold the Telephrame which is a picture frame that simply slides over the jack without having to remove anything. My wife is finally happy that the jack is covered and we have a cute picture of our daughter in it to look at!!
