Can i connect a phone that i currently have, to att?

I have a sidekick slide and an LG phone from verizon, and i want to connect 1 of them to att. I am from Puerto Rico, and my phone Company is Claro.

1. You can get an AT&T SIM card for a t-mobile phone, but I don't know if you have AT&T service down there. The verizon phone probably is CDMA, which means no SIM and you can't change it.
2. The Verion phone is a CDMA phone and is incompatible with AT&T. The sidekick will work with AT&T if it is unlocked.
