can your cell phone company tell you where your phone is?

i lost my iphone on the way home from school this is my seventh phone and my mom said if i lose it that she will never buy me a phone again ! i retraced my steps I called i did everything and now people keep on asking where my phone is so the only solution i have is to ask my cell company (att) to find it can they will they please help thanks!

1. Call and ask them. if you have had 7 phones and are lucky enough to have an iphone and loose it, then you deserve to not too have one.
2. no. even if they could magically locate your phone, it wouldn't be that accurate. you know you lost it in school so it has to still be there. unless someone stole it. you should call the cell phone company and ask if it has been used in the past few days or if someone tried to set up a new line on it.
3. if the phone is on then they're usualy able to trace it with GPS. if you have a contract with AT&T or have insurance on the phone, then all they have to do is shut the phone down so that it cant be used, and send you a brand new one.

5. AT&T will not assist you to find a lost or stolen phone.
6. yah i think so, generally you phone would have a tracking device on it so you should call the company and ask them to locate it for you. if not then call the police and report it.
7. sprint has family locator and gps so if it has that it can for sure
