Cell phone plan?

Okay, so I have verizon wireless. I have unlimited texting, and I have 350 minutes per month. My best friend has U.S Cellular, and she has unlimited texting as well. Even though I have unlimited text, does it waste my minutes for me to text her & vice versa, since she's on a different plan?
