LG Wireless Phone

All info and contacts erased?

I have a nV generation 1 phone from Samsung with a Verizon Wireless plan, and my wife has an LG Chocolate generation 1 phone, same plan. Yesterday, BOTH phones went kaput. My wife was using hers, when she heard my phone go off, so she checked it. It was turning itself off. (Battery was at 2 bars). About 2 minutes later, hers did the same thing. Upon turning them back on, ALL of our contacts, text/pic messages, pictures, all of them were all deleted. Except for: -text messages that I had 'locked' -everything saved on my SD card. Can anyone offer any insight as to what may have happened here? Also, I've had this phone for a year and a half, and hers for about a year and 3 months.

1. Well sounds like maybe sent you a virus or something to that affect which can happen or your phone could have crashed which can happen or the software that was written was faulty and it caused the phone to automatically delete everything
