Problems with Qwest wireless internet connection?
We have a wireless internet service from qwest. The modem is Actiontec. The problem is this, we have two laptops. The wireless adapters in the computers are working perfectly because we have been able to connect on other services. With qwest, both our computers will connect to the internet, full strength, but it will only connect for a short period of time and then suddenly drop off. It will take from a few seconds to a couple minutes for it to connect again. We have called in for customer support numerous times and they have changed the channels on it. We have also moved the router away from phones, radiowaves, etc. Nothing seems to work. We used to have DSL and we would experience the same problems. With dsl we had a different modem. What's going on? We have tried resetting the modem. At night we always unplug it.

- this is actually the best i've ever heard of Qwest working. Just switch to absolutely any other service provider, and count your blessings that they haven't burned your house down yet. Qwest is the most inept internet service on the planet and they have absolutely no idea what they are talking about any time you have to talk to them, and their equipment is junk. They lie about transfer speed, give you junk that doesn't work, and overcharge you unless you are vigilant about scouring your bill. I'm sure there is nothing wrong with your laptops, it's definitely Qwest.
- Hi Its progress the Internet service providers are all over selling there products so the bandwidth is reduced some to such small amounts that a connect becomes impossible a bit like the old dial up system became towards the end . now they will need to upgrade they just want to make more profit.

- are you connecting: internet>modem>router>PC's. I would power refresh router and modem first which is unplugging from power for 30 seconds, then plug one in and let it cycle up before you plug in the other. If that doesn't work reset to factory settings, hole near power on router, paperclip required, hold in for 30 seconds then you can reprogram?
