i am eligible for a free new phone for verizon wireless, can i get it the cancel the 2 year renewal?

I am planning on changing to a different service. Can I take advantage of the free phone I get for being in the 2 year free phone program, then canceling the 2 year renewal contract?

1. No, a contract is a contract. If you do, you will be billed for the full price of the phone, and an early termination fee.
2. No. Because Verizon don't give free new phones. They give you $50 credit every 2 year contract you finished. If you choose a phone that's less than $50 with 2 year contract, then that phone becomes "free". 3. 1. You dont necessarily get a free phone after 2 years. You pay whatever the 2 year contract price is, after rebate, minus any equipment discount that you may have for upgrading. 2. If you cancel the contract after upgrading, you are required to return the phone. They will charge you an ETF if you do not return it.
