  1. Don't wait for the iPhone to come to Verizon. You will be waiting a long time - and there may never even be one.
  2. Honestly, I would stick with the LG Ally. The iPhone hasn't been announced yet for Verizon so it could be a few years before it happens. It also depends if you text a lot since the Ally has a keyboard and the iPhone doesn't. In addition, the Ally is an Android phone while the iPhone is using the iOS. I own the Motorola Droid (Verizon) which is also an Android phone and I love it. There's an App Store called the Market and it is very similar to the one found on the iPhone and you can download games to your hearts content. In the end, I would stick with the Ally and read the review I linked in the sources.
  3. Um no. These rumors come around every year, and every year, no Verizon iPhone. They didnt want it when Apple came to them first back in 2006 and they dont want it now. Why would they, when any Android phone crushes the iDont any day of the week, and Android is already selling more phones than Apple anyways?? Plus, ATT knows that without the iPhone, they have nothing, so they will pay Apple as much as they want in order to keep it. Why would you ever want such a horrible phone? I would choose an Android phone any day because on the iPhone: -cant take out the battery -no removable memory -only Apple-approved apps -STILL no true multi-tasking like Android -cant customize your phone AT ALL -no Flash support -no widgets -no free GPS navigation -no custom ringtones -no free wireless music downloads -no ringback tones -all file syncing MUST be done through iTunes (pictures, etc.) -Android phones have more memory storage -most Android phones have better cameras -Android phones have faster processors -no standard USB cable like all other phones -instant Android OTA software updates- don’t have to wait a year like iPhone -can’t get service in an ATT store- have to find an Apple store -works on ATTs horrible network -no unlimited data -tethering comes out of your data plan instead of being separate Android is miles ahead of Apple- with the new 4.0 software, Apple is only now letting people do things that Android can, like add folders to their home screen, because God forbid that anyone should be able to do that on their cell phone!! And even in 4 years, they haven’t been able to give the iPhone true multi-tasking capabilities, like Android. It took them 4 years to put a flash on the camera for crying out loud!! By the time Apple puts out a new iPhone, there’s a better Android phone out 4 months later. Bottom line: they will always be trailing Android. Android is already selling more phones than Apple, and it’s been out half the time that the iPhone has. By the end of the year, the Market will have 100,000 apps, which is more than the Apple Store had at its 2-year mark. Android’s open-source nature will always be more appealing to devs and phone manufacturers because they can market to every carrier, and dozens of phones, instead of 1 carrier and 1 phone. The possibilities are literally endless as far as Android is concerned, because ANYONE can make an app to do ANYTHING on the phone. With Apple, they have to approve every single app that goes into the Store. They even rejected an app because it said the word Android in it- how far do you really think they’re gonna go with that kind of closed-minded thinking?? I want to decide what goes on my phone, not the other way around..
  4. Contrary to what Nathan said about the iPhone which most of it is untrue, the iPhone is a great phone for those that know how to use it. From what is being told BY APPLE is they are going to release a Verizon iPhone in the next year or two. AT&T is no longer the sole US carrier or it (well they won't be shortly). Now as for what the iPhone can and cannot do: FYI I'm going down the list Nathan placed and putting the correct answer there 1) battery - correct, you cannot remove the battery, but when you need a new one Apple will put it in as part of the purchase. 2) Again true, but I currently have the 8gb model and have yet to fill it up to the max and have plenty of apps, pictures, music and games and still have around 5gb left. 3) This one is partly true, if you keep the phone the way it was purchased then yes Apple only approved apps (but the same goes for Android), but if you jailbreak your phone then you can get plenty more apps that are not Apple approved. And contrary to most peoples belief, doing it is NOT illegal. Only thing is Apple will not service it in that state (you must reset back to factory prior to having it serviced). 4) OS 4.0 will provide true multi-tasking (which is being released in the next few months). But with a JB (jailbroken) iphone you already have that ability with a small app called backgrounder 5) Again with a JB iphone you can customize 1000's of ways. 6) Sadly no FLASH for iphone (had the phone over a year and never missed not having flash) 7) With the press of an icon to pull up the app, why do you need a widget to take up space from your screen? 8) No free GPS??? What?? I have 100% free GPS navigation from the map app that comes with the iPhone 9) Again no custom ringtones??? Yes you can make your own ringtone and upload to phone via iTunes 10) You can tag a song online and have it downloaded to iTunes. The reason for the lack of this is security reasons, it opens doors to hackers and viruses 11) Nope no ringbacks (but those are stupid anyhow) 12) iTunes is free so what does it matter if you have to use it or not?? It sorts your videos, songs and pictures. How awful!!! 13 - 15) I'll agree on this to a certain point, but again as I said my 8gb is still almost empty and I have a lot already on it. 16) The cable to the pc is USB, no phone has a standard USB connection on it, the end into the PC does (including the iPhone) 17) iPhone updates occur when Apple finishes them, rather wait a year and have the code debugged then have one every few weeks giving me more bugs than before. 18) AT&T does minor service of the iPhone, but major repairs are done through the Apple store if none are near you they mail you a priority box and pay for shipping (the nerve of them offering that) 19) AT&T's network outclasses the Verizon network by far, its faster and is a lot larger than Verizon (the map they depict on tv is outdated) 20) iPhone has unlimited data plan ($35 a month), I had it and I have it on T-Mobile with my iPhone 21) So tethering comes out of the unlimited data plan, hmmm I see no issue there. Android is doing things the iPhone have been doing for years, mine has folders and has had them since I got the iPhone. Granted Apple is really anal about it's stuff, when you JB the phone it outshines and outclasses any other phone similar to it on the market. Even the HTC Evo pales in comparison to the iPhone. Please Nathan next time you try to bash a phone, do your research and get your facts straight to avoid looking like a fool. Now to answer the actual question, should you wait or not. I wouldn't recommend it, I say go with the LG Ally. Why? Because nothing is ever set in stone and Apple & Verizon can have a falling out and scratch the iPhone verizon deal as quickly as I can click the submit button. But if you can wait awhile then I say go ahead and wait, but having to wait 2yrs is probably not too bad, so you could get the Ally now and then when you can upgrade again go for the iPhone at that point, who knows it may be another year or so before the iPhone makes it there.
  5. Hi.I would recommend getting the LG Ally from Verizon. It is the better phone to get.LG Ally is an awesome phone not to forget that part.
  6. Just a heads up - if I was you, I wouldn't waste my time or money purchasing the new iPhone 4G. There are a few sites that are giving people willing to test the new iPhone out one for free.
