i have att dsl without home phone do I need ethernet cable?
the only cords i have connected is the power cord and the phone line cord..i remember have the phone cord connected to the phone jack to the gateway att gives you. but i don't remember if i need the ethernet..my laptop receives the wireless internet, i just can't get on it cuz its asking for the PPP autentication.. its a 2wire wireless gateway from att a gateway is a modem and router combined into one. :)

- If you are getting redirected to the AT&T web page you're actually connected to the network but you need a username and password to surf the web freely. If your wireless says you are connected you should be connected. What kind of modem do you have?
- You need an ethernet cable if your modem is a wire modem, and not if it's wireless modem If this is the first time set up then you may need to call ATT tech for help - The number should be on your recently notice from ATT - They may also need your modem serial # and such info on the notice so be ready
