make a verizon wireless router work for comcast?

I have a Verizon westell 7501 wireless router, any one has any idea on how to make it work for comcast. It is definitely not plug and play.

1. not sure, but verizon is notorious for putting unnecessary restrictions on their hardware.
2. I know this works for modem's you buy from the store, but not ISP specific modems. You just connect the modem to the coaxial and call your ISP. They would then ask you for a series of digits that are on the modem and they would then assign an IP to the device. Giving you internet access.
