Wifi Verizon Wireless Phone doesnt need Internet?

I was wondering, if i buy the DROID phone, will i need to set it up with an internet plan? Or can i just use the phone's wifi and get free internet from my house?

1. Data plan is required. Wifi will not always be available wherever you go so you should not count on that. However, if you want to only use internet at home, then get a phone that doesn't do anything but make calls & texts.
2. All smartphones, PDA's and Blackberry's require the data plan to be put in place
3. Verizon requires the $30/month data plan on all smart phones. All phones thst are wifi enabled are smart phones and all require the data plan.
