mobile phone contract and wifi usage (blackberry curve 8500)?

hi, i have just got a blackberry curve 8500 on contract oh oranges dolphin plan, with 500 download allowance. i wondered if, when i have my phone connected to my home wifi does it still use up my download allowance ??
