Is is possible to own a ATT smart phone and not pay 30 a month?
I am trying to purchase a used unlocked blackberry, but I am concerned that my ATT plan will charge me 30$ a month for this phone. Is their a way I can avoid this?

- the smartphone data plan is mandatory for all smartphones... but, some are some loop holes... If the blackberry is branded T-Mobile, then its IMEI with show up "unknown" in our system.. cuasing the system to give you the standard Data Pay per Use package... choose your data plan from there.. or if you already have a smartphone... and already have the legacy smartphone data block from 2007 and before, then you and considered grandfathered in and dont need a plan you could... if you have the patients and a big bottle of Aleve... call 611... plead your case for the data block... and if your denied... then just continue to escalate until you get someone who can override the system.. it can be done... you just need to escalate and says you are a valued customer sinceXXX and pay your XXXXX bills on time and never had any credits and blah blah blah... make yourself look like gold... and you just might get a data block for a smartphone... goodluck
- Yes. AT&T currently offers two smartphone plans... $25 for 2gb of usage $15 for 200mb of usage You can't avoid paying some sort of data plan, but if you don't intend to use the internet much, AT&T has made it much more affordable to use a smartphone with their $15/month plan.
- Pair your BlackBerry with a smartphone plan that includes unlimited talk, text and data. Unlimited plans starting at half the cost of AT&T or Verizon. Blackberry Curve. http://gan.doubleclick.net/gan_click?lid=41000000032228875&pubid=21000000000261754 No contracts. No fees. No kidding.
