Should I switch from Verizon to ATT for a smartphone?

Okay, here's the dealio; I am about to finish my 2 year contract with verizon, and want a particular phone. Now, though, they require a minimum data plan monthly of 30$ each month for that type of phone that I would have to pay. ATT offers the same phone with a minimum of 15$, which is a lot more affordable for me. However, there are some pro's and con's to each... Verizon + Can call/text all friends and family without overage or worry + Great reception in my area - Expensive phone bill I may not be able to afford ATT + Phone I want and affordable, too - Have to worry about calls or texting - Unsure of coverage in my area, though I hear it's pretty good / similar to Verizon's. Please help me make my desicion and, if you think verizon is my best bet, work out a way to foot the bill! I have one other option... get a phone I don't like as much and stick with verizon, having to pay only an extra $10.

2. I had verizon before and I switched for the same reason. I wanted a cooler phone and a paid up the but too. So i dumped them and got a cool touch screen. The Rollover minutes will make up for the calling. Unlimited texting is $20 a month. As far as coverage, it was the same for me. I noticed NO difference between Verizon and AT&T so I still can't understand why I went with verizon in the first place!
