i have a nokia surge at&t phone how do i connect it to my internet using wifi?

how do i find the wifi settings and turn it on /use it? yes theres wifi enabled on my phone but i dont know if im using it everytime i log on ...yes my computer has wireless connection in the same house. but i just want to know how why do i always run into the asshole its obviously not my name because i dont want anybody to know what im asking
