Can i use a go Phone as a replacement for my broken (Cingular Phone) (Not ATT Phone)?

Well, ive been selling cell phones at radio shack for quite some time, and we always have customers who did not have insurance on their phones, so they need a inexpensive replacement phone, i was always told to sell them a regular phone at retail price (about $219.99) which discourages alot of people quickly. Well in theory why wouldnt a cheap motorola c139 phone work, or are there any other go phones that work better than the others? such as the nokia go phones? I just want to sell a go phone that should work on the spot. and ive heard mixed reveiews about using certain types of cingular sim cards with the motorola c139 go phone, thanks Phil
