Can My Parents track me through my cell phone?

Hi, I recently got a new phone (LG Tritan) and it has a GPS system, but that only works if my location is turned on (which I leave turned off). I was just wondering if it were possible for my parents to track me down even though my location is set to 911 only. We are on a Family Plan in which my dad is the administrator also if that is of any importance. So they can track me down with my location off? Is this with all phones or just phones with GPS?

3. recently on the news you can be tracked, recorded and seen from your phone. and if your dad has a plan to track you with your phone it may save you from a date or follow you washing your hair.
4. Yes they can track you down. They do not need GPS to locate you. As long as your phone is turned on, cellular system also provides your approximate location (within about 10 feet)

6. There is no way to track you if you have turned off your GPS. I am seeing so many replies saying they can, but technically it is impossible.
