how do I make my LG (verizon) phone work on other systems,instead of buying a new phone?

I have an LG Chacolate phone,& have been told that This phone can be flashed/reprogramed to work on other networks. Can this be done ... If so ,how?

1. You can not do this yourself. You would have to send the phone off to a company that offers the service, and know which carrier you want them to program into the phone. You can not take the phone to a GSM carrier like AT&T or T-Mobile. Your only other "national carrier" that the phone *might* possibly work on is Sprint, although there may be some smaller regional carriers like US cellular, Cellular South etc. that would allow the phone on their network.
