Stuck text message - Verizon Krazr?

I have a verizon wireless krazr. On Saturday I received a text message from a friend, read it and closed my phone. Later, I opened my phone and it showed a new message, but it was the one I had received and read earlier. I tried to open it again, but it wouldn't open and I am also not able to delete it. When I hit delete, it goes back to the main message screen. I have receive text message fine since then. I have tried turning off my phone and also removing the battery and nothing has worked so far. My phone is no longer under warranty, so I would like to figure out what's wrong with it on my own. Any ideas?

1. Restore your phone back to factory settings and also try to do a deep reset on the phone (all data will be erased) Menu > settings > initial setup > master reset > you will than be required to enter the security code which is (default: 000000), and thn asked to confirm the reset. This should and will work in solving the problem BUT if you still are unable to delete the texts than either call your carrier and ask them to re-configur the SMS settings on the phone OR take it to the service store!!!
2. Here is how to do the correct reset: Press OK-->Settings & Tools-->Security (default is your last 4 digits of your phone number)-->Reset Default If that does not work, take your phone to a local Verizon store to have them look at it. Maybe someone there can fix it
