I have a contract with ATT and I need a better phone to use until my contract is up?
I still have another year on my contract and my phone was damaged so now I'm using an old ATT phone that is not really up to par, like it's on its last leg. Can I buy an ATT go phone, take the sim card out and put my ATT contract sim in and use the phone?

- yes, that is precisely what I did, lol
- Absolutely, that is what we advise customers to do all the time when in your situation
- Hello, When you say you have one year left, I would assume you are talking about a 3 years contract. In any cases, customers are always allowed to buy themselves a new phone and just activate it on the account and transfer the SIM card, so for that part, yes that isn't a problem at all. Although as an alternative, you might want to look into an hardware upgrade. Since you have one year left and might always be under contract for 2 years already, you might be eligible for an upgrade. Most carriers offer upgrade after 2 years, which means they will are willing to give you a rebate (unless not as much as a new activation) if you are to renew your contract right now, so if you are plan to stick with AT&T, you might want to look into that. And just FYI, the reason they give less of a rebate for upgrade than new activation is for many reasons. First, would be because the first rebate you got 2 years ago, was for a 3 years contract and since most people upgrade after 2 years, it's like if one year goes to waste, so they give less of a rebate in upgrade to cover that loss. Secondly, rebate are usually based on the customer's revenue. The more a customer pays for his plan/services, the more of a rebate on the phone and optimally on the price plan they will get. Hope this helped, -D
