does anyone know?

so i found out that some stole my social seciruty number and used it for a phone bill in another state..the police wont file a report unless i have a bill and also a bill with outgoing or incoming calls..well i dont have that since i never had this phoen account..does anyone know how i go about getting these records?? the phone account was opened with my name and was through ATT..do i call them or what??also the papers i filed said that they will only do police reports that occured in the same state..well this happened in another state..can anyone help me with this..im really upset that someone would do this to me and i dont know where i should start?? i already contacted all of the 3 credit bureaus and put a flag on my social security number and i also filled out fraud afravid forms ..

1. I am sorry that some dirtbag used your SS number like that! I would contact an attorney, and get some advice. Also, call the phone company (AT&T) and explain what has happened. Good luck.
2. Contact the phone company and let them take it from there. You shouldn't be victimized twice, once by this thieve and second by the police dept., they should have advised you on what to do. The phone company can send you a copy of the bill, but usually they will clear you and then become the victim and either persue this person or just take a loss.
