LG Wireless Phone

my att phone got stolen, can i buy a go phone and ask them for a SIM card?

cuz my phone was worth like 200 bucks and no insurance... so i can either buy a phone off of craigslist and hope it wokrs with att or buy a gophone and ask att for a new SIM card... btw i have a 2 yr combined bill (family minutes) contract... does that matter? or if not then what is the cheapest cell phone i can buy from the store?

  1. Beware that buying a prepaid phone for use on a postpaid account comes with many headaches since these phones have different software and aren't designed to work on a postpaid account. You would be better off getting a new phone at full price or buying a used AT&T phone.
  2. I just had a family member loose their phone. It cost us 20.00 to upgrade to a new better phone but we also updated the contract. Go to a local AT+T and they are willing to deal with you. We got ours at Costco.
  3. I had a friend whose phone broke and she put her sim card in a $19.99 go phone from Wal-Mart and it works fine. So if they are willing to give you a new sim card, you might as well try it. Of course, if you ask someone from At&t if you can do that, their policy is that you are not supposed to use your sim card in the go phone.
