How can I access the internet on my Blackberry without WiFi?

I just bought a Blackberry Curve 8520 unlocked and put my Orange pay as you go sim card in but when I go to access the internet it says I need a WiFi connection, why is this when I didn't need WiFi on my old phone?

1. I just got one too yesterday. £15 a month! You cant because it does not have 3G so you can only get a WiFi connection.
2. does your plan support data? and then the next thing is if you do is the data plan compatible with that phone? if you do have data on your phone and it isn't working check your setting make sure its set on using the data plan for internet, if all else fails contact your provider

The phone is out of stock at the moment, but if you select 'see terms' and then 'pay as you go' from the plans and bundles section and then finally 'PAYG BlackBerry Internet Service'.
