Do you think that Cricket phone company is cheaper than other phone companies?

I am planing on switching and my local area is currently Chicago is it cheaper than U.S cellular,Mobile,Sprint,AT&T,Verizon Wireless and other carriers in chicago. I am looking for a family plan of 3 lines with Unlimited text messaging on all lines! Thank you for all you help and Time! Thanks! I don;t really care about what kind of phones they offer.
