Do I have to have ATT Phone service to have ATT DSL?

I hate ATT, but I want to keep my internet. Do I have to keep my Phone service to just have DSL I just found out you could.

1. AT&T says no, but good luck with that.
2. No but tell them your not happy with the land line and sometimes they will give you a better rate or discounts if you bundle the phone and internet.
