iphone 3G wifi not connecting.?

when i go to network settings on my iphone it shows wi-fi connected and tick in fornt of my SSID. but in the home screen no wifi signals showing. and when i try skype calls no wi-fi working. in my router (NETGEAR) settings page it shows IP address of my iphone under attached devices, i reset my phone network settings but it doesnt solve the problem. Please help.

1. Either call apple directly or which ever phone company you're with. Maybe something is blocking it through them. Good luck
