Can I use my Samsung Omnia's wifi to make skype calls from Thailand?
I have a Samsung Omnia, a Verizon US version, meaning its a CDMA phone. I'm going to Thailand in a few weeks so I was thinking of renting a GSM phone from Verizon that I could use to make calls back to the US while I'm there. But my phone has wifi so I was thinking that I might be able to connect to the web in Thailand using wifi and just use Skype to make my calls. Has anyone done this or anything like this? Will my phone support it? How accessible is wifi in Thailand? Thanks

- I don't have answers to your specific questions but I do know the many of the internet cafes have Skype already installed in their computers, and they have the headset, webcams & microphones so customers can make calls over the internet using Skype, Yahoo messenger, Windows Live, ICQ, etc. no phone is needed/used. The internet cafe's don't charge much 30-40 baht an hour ($1 USD). Hope this helps.
