How old do u have to be to open a cell phone account?

I have a job, im sixteen and i want to buy a phone plan with Verizon. My parents have ATT but i hate it so is it possible?

1. Possibly if one of them co-signs on it. I don't believe you will be able to open an account at 16 as your own account. Your best bet is to stop at your local Verizon store and talk to a representative. Also, don't forget that if you are going to cancel your line off your parents account, you'll have to pay a cancellation fee as well unless your contract is up.
2. You have to be 18 to sign a contract. You will need an adult, with good credit, to co-sign...
